103.9 WVBO is Standing with Survivors
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Denim Day – one of the many ways YOU can stand with survivors during Sexual Assault Awareness Month Denim Day is an annual campaign to prevent sexual violence through education and public awareness that
culminates on the last Wednesday of April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. It began in Italy in the 1990s when female legislators wore jeans to protest a Supreme Court verdict overturning a rape conviction because the victim wore tight jeans. In April 1999, a social service agency in Los Angeles established the first Denim Day in the United States, and in 2011 a local survivor established Denim Day Milwaukee.
