1968 - The BeatlesYellow Submarine achieved gold status.

1981 - Joni Mitchell was inducted into Canada’s Juno Hall of Fame by Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.

1998 - Slaughter guitarist Tim Kelly died at the age of 34 after suffering injuries in a car accident in Arizona. The guitarist was driving on a remote highway when an 18-wheeler jackknifed, colliding with his vehicle.

2006 - At the Super Bowl XL halftime show, The Rolling Stones served up a smattering of hits. The show’s producers, weary after the infamous Janet Jackson “wardrobe malfunction” incident, used a “dump button” to edit racy lyrics from the songs “Start Me Up” and “Rough Justice.”
