APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The first Light the Night Market of 2025 is finally here as downtown Appleton celebrates two weeks after inclement weather forced it to be rescheduled from May 16.
Local 5 was from downtown Appleton to bringing you stories from the festivities as well as other updates from around the area.
From 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 30, downtown Appleton will light up through renaissance flair with thrilling elements such as sword swallowers, LARP, turkey legs, maypole dancing, and more.
Other features include food trucks, captivating arts and crafts vendors, interactive hands-on activities, mesmerizing street performers, lively live music, and an abundance of glowing lights to illuminate the night sky.

Local 5 will also feature its live 4 p.m. newscast from the Light the Night Market and showcase everything the extravaganza has to offer.
The event’s original date was scheduled for Friday, May 16, but high winds and inclement weather forced event organizers to reschedule.
Some rain and possible thunderstorms are expected Friday night. Stick with Local 5 for the latest weather updates.
Two other Light the Night Market events are scheduled for August 22 and November 15.
