The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…
The Wisconsin DNR and the NOAA have come together to put an Air Quality Advisory across the entire state today. Canadian wildfires are burning out of control, and that smoke that has been lofted into the atmosphere will be over Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan today. If you experience coughing or shortness of breath you are asked to move indoors. The advisory will expire at 6am Saturday, while some western counties in the state may get that extended.
Thunderstorm chances: A cold front will flare up spotty showers or thunderstorms this afternoon. There is a low chance for any particular county to see a strong/severe thunderstorm, but in addition to lightning and isolated downpours, some small hail or a strong wind gust may come from any storm. Stay tuned to Local 5 News or our Storm Team 5 Weather app where we will alert you of any Severe Thunderstorms.
Friday morning and mid-day may feature some stray rain showers or sprinkles, but otherwise, partly sunny with smoky skies as highs climb into the upper 70s. Spotty thunderstorms along the cold front in the afternoon.
Thunderstorms will drop south very early this evening, with clearing skies expected behind the front. That will also clear the smoke out of the sky tonight. The low is 46 degrees.
Saturday looks very nice! Plenty of sunshine and comfy temps in the low to mid 70s.
Sunday will also be nice with mostly sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s.
