FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Two suspects in a 2023 North Fond du Lac shooting now know their fate as they have officially been sentenced, says Fond Du Lac District Attorney Eric Toney.
17-year-old Noah Metcalf has been sentenced to 6 years in prison with 6 years of extended supervision, and 21-year-old Jaysen Fix was previously sentenced to nine years in prison with an additional nine years of extended supervision for their roles in a shooting on September 4, 2023.

According to a criminal complaint from the Fond du Lac District Attorney’s Office, officers with the North Fond du Lac Police Department responded at 1:58 a.m. to a home on Michigan Avenue after two victims reported hearing a “pop, pop, pop” before bullets flew through the wall near where they were sitting.
Upon police arrival, several bullet holes were found in the siding of the home near the couch in the living room where the two victims had been sitting, with another being found near the television mounted on the opposite wall of the home.
Officers confirmed that there were five shots in total, with two of the shots being fired from a distance within 15 feet of the home and the other three shots being fired at a greater distance as the suspect advanced or fled from the home.
One of the victims was said to have abrasions on her hand from the debris coming from the wall while the shots were fired.
One of the victims reported that the incident was likely related to one of the suspects, 17-year-old (15 at the time) Noah Metcalf, and his breakup earlier that evening with his girlfriend, as the victim added that Metcalf had driven by the home multiple times in 24 hours leading up to the incident.
Stated in the criminal complaint, Metcalf told police the night before the incident that his now ex-girlfriend had stolen money from him and abused him. He later reportedly told police that he believed his ex-girlfriend would be at the home on Michigan Avenue and that his prior allegations made about her were not true.
A witness told police that Metcalf and his ex-girlfriend had a “toxic” relationship and claimed that a friend of hers texted her to leave the victim’s residence as Metcalf had allegedly “put out a hit” on his ex-girlfriend.
Metcalf was said to be arrested following a search warrant on September 4, 2023. He told police that he contacted 21-year-old (19 at the time) Jaysen Fix that his ex-girlfriend and one of the victims was making threats towards Fix’s child.

Metcalf admitted to Fix becoming upset and saying he wanted “to go deal with them.” Metcalf told authorities that he gave Fix directions to the home. Fix reportedly called Metcalf on Snapchat after the shooting and headed to Metcalf’s home, where they hid the gun used in the incident.
Police arrested Fix on September 8, and he admitted to walking up to the home and shooting into it.
Both Fix and Metalf were charged with multiple charges of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, with some charges being dismissed but read in.
Gun violence has a chilling effect in a community and causes fear to the victims and the community. We have witnessed violent gun crime in our community being committed but juveniles and young adults. This will never be accepted, regardless of age or who the defendant is. We are grateful nobody was killed in this shooting but the emotional trauma and the loss of a sense of security cannot easily be fixed.
