FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – On the Fourth of July, firefighters were called to a home in Fond du Lac after fireworks incorrectly thrown away caused a fire in the garage.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office got a 911 call reporting a fire at a home in the N6000 block of Stillwater Drive in Fond du Lac around 11:05 p.m. on Friday, July 4. The caller reported flames in the attached garage.
Everyone had safely evacuated the home before crews arrived.

As agencies quickly arrived, efforts to put out the fire moved fast. Fire crews prevented the flames from spreading beyond the garage, limiting the damage to within the garage wall and ceiling, and items in the garage.
According to the release, the fire is believed to have originated from fireworks that were thrown away “in or near garbage cans.”
No injuries were reported.
