FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Officers with the Fond du Lac Police Department are honoring the dedication, loyalty, and courage of one of their retired K9s who recently passed away.
“We are saddened to report the passing of retired dual-purpose FDLPD K9 Ronny,” the Department stated in a Facebook post on the morning of August 9.
K9 Ronny was born in Spain and in 2014 was brought to Campbellsport, where he was trained at Steinig Tal Kennels. Later that year, K9 Ronny took to the street with his partner, Officer Charles Beckford, and served with dedication, loyalty, and courage.

FDLPD stated that K9 Ronny lived to be more than 14 years old and enjoyed a well-earned retirement filled with love, family, and relaxation.
“We extend our deepest condolences to Officer Beckford, his family, and all who had the privilege of working with and loving K9 Ronny,” FDLPD’s post concluded. “His paw prints will remain forever on our hearts.”
