VINLAND, Wis. (WFRV) – After a thorough investigation, the suspect allegedly involved in an armed robbery of a Winnebago County Kwik Trip was arrested during a traffic stop on Wednesday.
Officers with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office say the armed robbery happened at a Town of Vinland Kwik Trip around 12:30 a.m. on October 13.
The suspect allegedly showed a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. He was able to flee on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and leave in his vehicle that had been parked across the street.
With help from the Oshkosh and Neenah Police Departments, the area was searched, but to no success.
Through investigative resources, authorities were able to identify the suspect vehicle and learned that the suspect associated with the vehicle had a ‘history of robbery convictions.’

A few days later, on October 15, law enforcement was able to identify the suspect as Oshkosh resident Lorenzo Wood Jr., 58. With help from the Oshkosh Police Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol, Wood Jr. was taken into custody during a traffic stop.
A search warrant was subsequently conducted at Wood’s residence.
“We commend the staff and patrons of Kwik Trip for their quick thinking and keen observation skills that assisted in providing information about this incident,” the release from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office stated.
