Upon arrival, Officials say they saw fire and smoke coming from the roof of the home. After entering the home, the active fire was found in the attic space created from burning insulation.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire, minimizing the fire and smoke damage inside the attic and the room.
Officials determined the cause of the fire to be due to an aging electrical system. The woman who called 911 explained that a light suddenly went out in a room and a burning electrical smell followed.
No one, including the children and the dog, was said to be hurt in the incident and an investigation remains ongoing.
