PITTSBURGH, Penn. (WFRV) – It is no secret that fans of the Green Bay Packers travel well and that point was proven on Sunday night during one of the most anticipated games in Packers’ history.
A Week 8 matchup, circled on the calendar by many of the Green and Gold faithful since being announced in May, would pit the mentor versus the student as the new age Green Bay Packers, led by rising star Jordan Love, headed to the Steel City to take on familiar face Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Early on, things were going all the way of Rodgers and his new team as the Steelers took a 16-7 lead into the halftime break, but as the tide started to swing into Love and the Packers’ favor, chants of “Go Pack Go!” echoed throughout Acrisure Stadium.
After 18 years of being on the beneficiary side of the classic Packers chant, Rodgers was in new territory Sunday night as the away team chants took over and forced Rodgers and the Steelers offense into a silent count for most of the night.
I’ve heard that chant for 18 years. Packer fans travel really well. [It’s the] first time in a while I’ve used silent count for a home game, that’s a credit to those Packer fans.

The overtaking chants, a poised Jordan Love on the other sideline, and a relentless Packers defense led by Micah Parsons, which had Rodgers under constant pressure, appeared to make the former Packers legend and future Hall of Famer uncomfortable all night long, leading to a dominant 35-25 victory for the Packers.
Rodgers finished the night 24/36 for 219 yards and two touchdowns, while Jordan Love went 29/37 for 360 yards and three touchdowns. The loss from Rodgers kept him from joining a list with Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Brett Favre as quarterbacks who have beaten all 32 NFL franchises over the course of their careers.

Rodgers and the Steelers now fall to 4-3 on the year and will go up against the Indianapolis Colts in week 9. Meanwhile, Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers improve to an NFC-best 5-1-1 and will return to Lambeau Field for back-to-back home games against the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
