GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The 28-year-old Green Bay man charged with reckless homicide for his alleged involvement in a May 2024 fatal overdose was in court on Friday morning.
Court records show that 28-year-old Ivan Huff was in custody via Zoom at the hearing with his attorney present for what was supposed to be a final pre-trial hearing. A motion for continuance was made and a motion hearing was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on April 10 with the final pre-trial hearing now scheduled for 11:45 a.m. on April 14.
Jury trial dates are still scheduled for 8:15 a.m. on April 21, April 22 and April 23

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Green Bay man charged with 1st-degree reckless homicide stemming from his alleged involvement in a May 2024 overdose was in court on October 30 for his final pre-trial hearing.
Court records show that 28-year-old Ivan Huff was in custody while in court with his attorney. The $100,000 present bond was continued, and the defense requested adjournment, which went unopposed by prosecutors.
The trial dates of November 5-7 are no longer listed; however, Huff now has a plea hearing set for December 5 at 8:45 a.m.

In addition, a final pre-trial and jury trial hearing were set, with the full trial set for three days.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay man who is charged with homicide stemming from his alleged involvement in a May 2024 overdose death waived his rights to a preliminary hearing.
According to court records, 27-year-old defendant Ivan Huff was in court in custody from jail on Tuesday morning. Huff and his attorney waived their right to a preliminary hearing and filed a waiver form, which was accepted.
The present bond was continued, as an arraignment was set for 9 a.m. on March 24.

Court records show that Ivan Huff, 27, appeared in court on Friday, January 17, for a status conference.
Huff’s present bond of $100,000 continued, and he got an arraignment hearing set for February 11. Court records also show that a preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 27.

According to court records, 27-year-old Ivan Huff was in custody at Dodge Correctional and was unavailable at the time of the scheduled status conference.
The present bond was continued and the status conference has been rescheduled for 9:00 a.m. on December 27.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay man who had a $100,000 cash bond set following formal charges for his alleged role in an overdose death appeared in court on Tuesday.
Court records show that 27-year-old Ivan Huff appeared by video in custody, alongside his attorney Peter Raymond Heyne. The present bond continued. Huff is charged with 1st-degree reckless homicide as a party to a crime in a repeat offense.
Huff’s status conference has officially been set for Nov. 20 at 2 p.m.

FRIDAY, AUG. 9, 2024, 10:46 a.m.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A man from Green Bay had his cash bond set at $100,000 after he was officially charged with homicide following a woman’s overdose back in May.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by Local 5, 27-year-old Ivan Huff has been charged with homicide after a woman overdosed on drugs back in May 2024. On May 22 around 10:30 p.m., officers were sent to a residence in Hobart for a medical call.
A woman was believed to be dead in the bathroom. The officer who got to the scene first found the victim lying on her back and was not breathing, according to the complaint.

Two doses of Narcan were reportedly administered and the woman was sent to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy listed the cause of death as the toxic effects of fentanyl, xylazine, morphine and clonazepam.
Authorities ended up getting records of the victim’s Facebook where she reportedly had conversations with Huff. The complaint says that it was ‘evident’ that the victim solicited illicit substances from Huff.
The victim’s phone was also searched and authorities determined that the data on the phone showed the source of fentanyl that killed her was from Huff.
On July 25, Huff was repeatedly arrested by the Menominee Tribal Police after he allegedly fled from police. A few days later on July 29, authorities interviewed Huff regarding the overdose death.
Huff reportedly admitted to distributing fentanyl upon request. During the interview, Huff said that he did not hand the drugs to the victim according to the complaint.
Huff is charged with:
- First Degree Reckless Homicide – As a party to a crime, repeater
- Felony
- Up to 60 years in prison (can be increased by six years due to repeater
Court records show that Huff was in court on August 6 for an initial apperance. He had his cash bond set at $100,000.
He is due back in court on September 17 for a status conference.
