MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – With help from security video, a 63-year-old robbery suspect in southern Wisconsin was arrested after allegedly robbing a 72-year-old pedestrian on Sunday.
A release from the Madison Police Department states that officers were called to a business in the 2700 block of East Johnson Street around 12:45 p.m. on January 17.
Officers were met by a 72-year-old man who told them that, after a recent purchase from a nearby store, he was walking on Pawling Street toward East Johnson when he was approached by another man from behind.

A ‘brief scuffle’ broke out as the suspect allegedly stole money and a debit card from the victim’s pocket. The victim, who uses a walker, was knocked to the ground during the alleged robbery.
With help from security video that captured the entire incident, officers were able to identify the suspect and arrest him for robbery with use of force.
The suspect was identified as Madison resident Willie Triplett, 63. Triplett was taken to the Dane County Jail following his arrest.
