(WFRV) — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles is reminding residents to remain vigilant as email scams are once again circulating statewide.
Officials say the recent scam attempts claim recipients have unpaid vehicle fees and include fraudulent links directing victims to submit payment for fake violations.

“Remember, the Wisconsin DMV will never text or email you saying you owe money,” the department said.

Anyone who receives a suspicious message is advised not to click on links or provide personal information. Instead, officials recommend reporting the message as spam and deleting it.
The DMV encourages residents to verify any concerns directly through official state websites or by contacting the department using publicly listed phone numbers.
