The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…
Thursday will be another cold January day, but Friday will be the coldest day we’ve had in seven years! Winds have picked up and that will drive wind chills from -5 to -15 degrees at times today, but late tonight and Friday, the brisk wind and falling temperatures will take wind chills down as low as -35 to -50 degrees! That is dangerously cold weather!

Here are some tips on how to prepare for the prolonged cold: Cover up your exposed skin with hats, gloves, and facemasks if you can. Limit your time outside because frostbite can happen in only 10-15 minutes time! Remember to check on family and neighbors to make sure the furnace or fireplace is in good working order. You will have to take similar precautions with your pets with limiting exposure to the cold outside.
Your car may not like the cold if it’s left outside. Give yourself some extra time since it’s possible you could run into battery or low tire pressure problems. If your car happens to break down on the road, try to remember to bring extra clothes or a blanket to keep warm in your car. Also, it’s a good idea to keep your gas tank at least 1/2 full.
