HOLMEN, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities say one man is now in custody following an early Monday morning stabbing incident in Wisconsin.
According to a release from the Holmen Police Department, police were made aware of a stabbing incident after the victim arrived at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse around 3:45 a.m.
Fatal shooting in Wisconsin under investigation, no arrests made
Officers determined the stabbing to have taken place at a home on the 100 block of Holmen Drive South in the Town of Holmen. They say initial attempts to contact the suspect at the home were unsuccessful.
Police then executed a search warrant at 8:00 a.m. at the home in question, leading to the arrest of 24-year-old Dennis Noel Vasquez Hernandez.
Hernandez was then taken and booked into the La Crosse County Jail on the following charges:
- Substantial Battery
- 2nd-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety
- Disorderly Conduct While Armed.
The victim was treated at the clinic for non-life-threatening injuries and later released. The victim and suspect are said to be known to each other and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
