(WFRV) – A new WalletHub report revealed the states that have the highest average credit score, and Wisconsinites will be pleased to see their home state near the top.

According to the report, Wisconsin ranks at No. 4 overall among the best average credit scores nationally, with an average of 718, which is in the ‘good’ range, WalletHub said.
WalletHub says the goal for many Americans is to get at least a 750, which is the beginning of the ‘excellent’ range.
States ahead of Wisconsin were Vermont (720), New Hampshire (721), and Minnesota (723), which topped the list. Washington came in at No. 5 with a 716 average credit score.

The lowest average was in Mississippi at 669.
