(WFRV) – Wisconsinites are invited to help make all of Wisconsin’s trees ‘happy’ by registering for the Bob Ross-inspired “Happy Little 5K” that will have its proceeds benefiting tree health and protection statewide.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminded residents on Wednesday that registration is open for the Run for the Trees: Happy Little 5K, inspired by the iconic Bob Ross.
The virtual race that participants can run at a location of their choosing will help support forest health in Wisconsin State Parks.

By selecting Wisconsin as the state participants will represent, a portion of the registration fee will go toward tree planting and forest health efforts to combat threats from invasive species.
Participants will receive the following after signing up:
- Keepsake t-shirt
- Commemorative bib number
- Finisher’s medal
- Run for the Trees sticker
The 5K will run virtually between April 18 and April 26, which includes Earth Day and Arbor Day on April 22 and April 24, respectively.
