The Ten O One Club or 1001 Club, which has gone under multiple names in its 118 years. But, now, the building’s owner says it is not viable in its current form.
“I always tell our managers that business is simply assuring that revenue is $1 more than expenses,” owner Steve Schneider said on Facebook. “We have been unable to achieve that simple assurance, ever, in the past three years.”
Ownership will maintain the location for catered and special events until the building is sold, as multiple conversations have already taken place with ‘seemingly significant interest.’ The post says the restaurant business will be marketed for outright or seller-financed sale.
Most of the employees have already found jobs elsewhere, or they’ll be hired at one of the business’s other establishments in the Bellin Building, either Bistro Buchanan or Daily Buzz.
