(WFRV) — UW–Oshkosh women’s basketball head coach Brad Fischer etched his name into the record books Saturday, surpassing legendary coach Bo Ryan with a historic milestone.
With a 69–47 win over UW–River Falls, Fischer recorded his 13th consecutive 20-win season — a WIAC record across both men’s and women’s basketball. The milestone breaks the previous mark set by Ryan, who won at least 20 games every season from 1987–88 through 1998–99 at UW–Platteville, before leading Wisconsin.
“I made sure to watch [Bo Ryan]. I had so much respect for all of the little things that Bo’s teams did and kind of taught me if you do those things, it gives you a chance to win every game,” Fischer said.

Now in his 14th season, Fischer has guided the Titans to a Final Four appearance last year and has surpassed 300 career wins at UW–Oshkosh.
“It’s incredible. It’s a testament to every player that’s been here, but more so, the players that keep coming here,” Fischer expressed. “Super proud. It’s going to take a decade-and-a-half for someone else to break it and that’s special.”
UW–Oshkosh sits at 20–1 overall, 9–1 in WIAC play, and is ranked third nationally in Division III. Four regular-season games remain before the conference tournament begins.
