FRIENDSHIP, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Fond du Lac County say an 81-year-old woman was found dead Wednesday morning following a house fire.
According to a release from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, fire crews, police, and other emergency personnel responded at 10:13 a.m. to a one-story home on the N7800 block of Lakeshore Drive in the Town of Friendship for reports of a fire.

Upon arrival, officials say they saw smoke coming from the attic of the home. Firefighters entered the home and found an 81-year-old woman dead inside a bedroom.
The fire appeared to have started in the basement of the home and was quickly brought under control and extinguished by fire crews.
No other information is available at this time and the cause of the fire, as well as the 81-year-old woman’s death, is under investigation.
