WAUSAU, Wis. (WFRV) – The Wausau Police Department is offering the community a chance to experience what a day on patrol is like with a new Ride-Along Program.
According to a release, the Wausau Police Department’s Ride-Along Program is said to offer members of the public a chance to observe officers as they serve and protect the community.

Officials with the department say the program is designed as a way to increase transparency, build understanding, and strengthen relationships between officers and the community they serve.

Those interested in participating in a ride-along must be 18 years of older, will be subject to approval and availability of officers, and a background check may be required.
