WILD ROSE, Wis. (WFRV) – First responders in Wild Rose were called to a potential gas leak Tuesday night after a vehicle crashed into the kitchen area of a business.
According to a release from the Wild Rose Fire District, crews from the Fire Department, along with deputies from the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office, responded at 8:33 p.m. to a business at 350 Main Street for reports of a crash.

At 8:35 p.m., the first of the crews to arrive found that a vehicle had crashed into the kitchen area of a business, severing a gas meter and causing an active gas leak.
An immediate evacuation was said to be ordered, and the roadway around the business was closed for safety reasons. WE Energies and Alliant Power worked together to shut off power to the building in an effort to eliminate any fire risks.

Officials report that the location of the driver was unknown at the time as the vehicle was resting directly on the top of the ruptured gas pipe, causing a delay in immediate rescue efforts.
The driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, was found a short time and appeared to have sustained minor injuries from the crash.
No one hurt in Harrison garage fire, cause under investigation
No other injuries were reported, and once the gas was secured, power was safely restored to the business. No other information is available at this time.
