From Storm Team 5…
We are officially into a spring tease!
New record highs were set today in Green Bay and the Fox River Valley as highs topped out in the upper 40s and lower 50s!
The snowpack will be decreasing rapidly in the coming days. With that being said, the moisture in the low levels of the atmosphere from evaporating water (old snow), plus mostly clear skies and calm winds tonight will mostly likely create some areas of dense fog. This will be overnight Friday night into Saturday morning.
Not only will a fog threat bring reduced visibility to anyone out and about, including sturgeon spearers, but temperatures will be in the 20s which means roads could get a bit slippery Saturday morning from “freezing fog.”
Plan on quiet weather and highs in the 40s and 50s all the way into early next week. The warmest day will Monday where more record highs are in jeopardy.
We are monitoring Tuesday night for rain to a rain/snow mix – and potentially a snow producing system Thursday into Friday of next week. Winter is not over!
