ONALASKA, Wis. (WFRV) – An investigation began at a western Wisconsin high school on Thursday after a student reportedly found two rounds of ammunition in the school’s commons area.
Shortly before noon on February 19, officers with the Onalaska Police Department say they were called to Luther High School after a student told school staff that they found ammunition in the building.
When officers arrived, they reportedly found two rounds of ammunition on the floor of the school’s commons and began to interview students to determine any possible threats.

The investigation concluded no such threat after it was learned that a student who was wearing a hunting jacket discarded the ammo in a panic after realizing it was in their pocket.
Luther High School was placed on a soft lockdown during the investigation.
