MARQUETTE, Mich. (WFRV) – Officials say that the search is paused for a missing 21-year-old, last seen in Marquette, pending new information.
Winter weather wreaks havoc on Winnebago County commute
According to the Marquette Police Department, Trenton Massey was seen on February 22 in the downtown Marquette area.
Officials say a cell phone associated with Massey had been found and turned in the same day at around 8 a.m. His family then reported around 1:30 p.m. that he hadn’t been heard from.
Massey was seen on camera footage from the north Founder’s Landing Pier, walking out onto the ice around 3:30 a.m. on February 22. This is currently the last known location.
Search efforts have been conducted on land, ice and overhead, but to no avail.

As of 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Massey is still missing, and search efforts are suspended by law enforcement pending new information. Volunteer search efforts can continue, but officials say to be mindful of private property and avoid the ice.
Massey was last seen in a black and olive-green coat.
