Court records show that the defense argued to discuss the bond at a later date, but eventually, the $2 million cash bond was officially set due to Chilcote being a flight risk.

Conditions coinciding with the cash bond include:
- Sign waiver of extradition
- No contact by any means with the victim’s family or residence
- No alcohol
- No controlled substances
- No firearms of any kind
Chilcote has been charged with 1st-degree intentional homicide stemming from the death of 24-year-old Gabriella Cartagena, who was reported missing from Marinette on February 4. During court on Thursday, it was alleged that Chilcote killed Cartagena and dumped her body in Menominee.
