MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – The World Champion Cheese has finally been revealed after a long competition with over 3,300 entries.
The winner of the 2026 World Championship Cheese Contest was crowned in Madison on Thursday afternoon, with the victor hailing from the Netherlands.

CONO Kaasmakers’ Beemster Royaal Grand Cru won the overall top spot with a 98.68 score out of 100, surpassing a pair of runner-ups based in Switzerland.
25 nations and 34 U.S. states/territories participated in the contest, and Wisconsin dairy processors had the most first-place awards (45) in 148 different categories.
