(WFRV) – Officials with the Department of Justice say a $50,000 settlement is now secured in the sexual harassment case against a landlord in Green Bay.
According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Wisconsin, a lawsuit was filed in July 2025 against David Jones and D Jones Properties LLC, alleging that Jones, who manages several rental properties in Green Bay, sexually harassed a tenant.

Officials report that the sexual harassment towards the tenant included making unwelcome sexual comments, grabbing her without consent, entering her home without permission, and attempting to evict her after asserting her rights under the Fair Housing Act.
The case was then referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Wisconsin, after the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development received a complaint, investigated, and issued a discrimination charge.
Women should never feel unsafe in their own homes. The Justice Department will vigorously protect the rights of vulnerable tenants subjected to sexual harassment and hold housing providers accountable when they violate the law.

Under the agreed-upon settlement, Jones and D Jones Properties are required to pay the tenant $50,000 as well as attend fair housing training and be monitored by the Justice Department for a two-year period.
This settlement sends a clear message that sex discrimination in housing will not be tolerated. No one should have to endure sexual harassment to keep a roof over their head.
