FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Two men have officially been sentenced for their roles in a fatal fentanyl overdose over 2.5 years ago in Fond du Lac.
Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney announced that Larry Plummer and Adrian Santiago-Hernandez were both given bifurcated sentences in the case, which began when a person fatally overdosed on fentanyl on August 14, 2023.

Plummer was sentenced to 10 years in prison with 10 years of extended supervision for 2nd-degree reckless homicide, while Santiago Hernandez was sentenced to one year in prison and eight years of supervision for 1st-degree reckless homicide.
District Attorney Toney said that Santiago-Hernandez’s lesser sentence was because of his cooperation throughout the entire case, which led to Plummer’s conviction, as the latter was the source of the drugs and overall higher in the delivery chain.
The following is a statement from District Attorney Toney:
“We see the worst that society has to offer in court but we also see the best that our communities have to offer. The best of our community was on display today and throughout this case, as the victim’s family showcased patience, understanding, compassion, and today they expressed forgiveness towards the defendant that was responsible for giving their daughter and sister the drugs that killed her. We hope these sentences provide a deterrent to help save lives and lead others to seek the treatment they need before causing the death of another or their own life.” – Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney
