GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Green Bay say the Mason Street Bridge is now open following several reported crashes on Wednesday morning.
According to a release from the Green Bay Police Department, icy road conditions led to two crashes Wednesday morning, resulting in just one minor injury.
Both the westbound Mason Street Bridge and South Ashland Avenue were closed, with the Mason Street Bridge reopened around 7:00 a.m., and South Ashland Avenue reopened around 8:20 a.m.
The Green Bay Police Department is continuing to urge drivers to use extra caution out on the roadways, as icy conditions may still remain throughout the city.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2026 – 7:07 a.m.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Green Bay are warning the public to avoid the Mason Street Bridge at this time as they respond to multiple crashes caused by icy road conditions.
According to a release from the Green Bay Police Department, officers first responded around 5:45 a.m. to reports of a crash on West Mason Street near South Broadway involving several vehicles.
Police were then called to another reported crash, a single-vehicle crash, at 6:15 a.m. on South Ashland Avenue near West Mason Street. These crashes are believed to be caused by the current icy road conditions created by overnight wintry weather.

Only one person from these two crashes is said to have minor injuries. Drivers who usually commute using the Tilleman/Mason Street Bridge are asked to find a ew route as the bridge is closed westbound, as is South Ashland Avenue.
All drivers out on the road this morning are advised by officials to use extra caution, drive slowly, and allow for plenty of additional stopping distance.
