The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…
Snow and rain showers will combine with very gusty winds Friday as a tightly packed low cruises through the area. Roads could be slushy or snow covered as the day starts, especially for communities north of Green Bay. Additional snow amounts will be minor, if any, except for Door County and the northwoods which might pick up another inch or two.
The other big story Friday will be the wind as gusts will pick up to around 40 to 50 miles per hour on the backside of this storm. Isolated higher gusts possible. This will pose another travel risk as well as the falling rain and snow.

UPDATE ON THE WEEKEND STORM: We are still anticipating a long duration heavy snow/wintry mix event starting Saturday after 7pm and lingering through Monday morning. Along with the heavy snow potential, winds will be approaching blizzard criteria with gusts around 40 to 50 mph again. Significant travel problems, whiteout conditions, even power outages still up on the docket for Sunday into Monday.
WHAT’S NEW THIS MORNING: Computer forecast data is hinting as a slight shift in the storm, pushing further north than previously thought. There is still a chance for big snow totals in this area (over a foot), but the threat for the historic snow amounts seem to be waning for the Fox Cities and lakeshore as warmer temperatures on Sunday will change the snow over to a wintry mix or rain. THE FORECAST CAN STILL CHANGE. Stay tuned with Storm Team 5 as we adjust the snow forecast as bring you the latest before and during the storm.
