STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin say one person is in custody following an early Sunday morning stabbing.
According to a release from the Stevens Point Police Department, officers responded around 5:00 a.m. to the 2800 block of Frontenac Avenue for reports that a man had been stabbed following a social gathering.

Officials say the social gathering had turned physical, leading to the eventual stabbing incident. The incident is believed to be an isolated incident as all the involved parties are known to each other and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The victim of the stabbing was taken to a local hospital by EMS and is said to be in critical condition. A suspect related to the incident is in custody.
