GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Day two of Northeast Wisconsin’s historic snowstorm led to treacherous travel throughout our region.
Even when the flakes stopped falling, the roads remained dangerous. Fierce winds whipped the snow around, reducing visibility and creating snow drifts on the roads. According to a post from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook, their deputies responded to 165 stranded driver calls in an 11-hour span.

The conditions in Marinette County on Monday got so bad that, at one point, the Marinette County Highway Department pulled its drivers off the roads.
“I thought this was kind of normal for Wisconsin, so I’m learning something new myself,” said truck driver John Ambrose, who lives in Colorado.
Ambrose works for Hains Trucking and was in Wisconsin for a delivery trip to Nestle in Little Chute. He said the snowstorm greatly impacted his schedule.
“Got there about 9:30 (Sunday morning) and they were closed because of the storm coming in,” he told Local 5 News. “I was at the truck stop down the street, and I got snowed in, finally got out of there today.”

All over Northeast Wisconsin, folks continued to dig out from the storm.
“It’s a lot, it’s heavy, it’s a long driveway, so it’s been a lot, a lot of work,” Luz Maria of Little Chute told Local 5 News on Monday afternoon.
Folks who spoke to Local 5 News said they’re hoping this storm is winter’s last dirty trick and that spring is right around the corner.
