KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WFRV) – As the efforts to clean up the heavy snowfall from a weekend blizzard kick into full gear, the Kaukauna Fire Department is asking for public assistance.
Just about anything imaginable on sidewalks and curbs was covered over the weekend, including many fire hydrants across Kaukauna, and officials say hydrants must be exposed as soon as possible.

“We are reaching out to request assistance in uncovering the city’s hydrants to ensure they are accessible in the event of an emergency,” the Kaukauna Fire Department said. “By exposing hydrant outlets, we can pave the way for the community to thrive.”
Officials also asked businesses to quickly pave a clear path to Knox Boxes and Fire Department Connectors.
