(WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin say crews were able to contain a chimney fire on Monday despite the recent blizzard causing less-than-ideal road conditions, leading to some delays.

According to a release from the Pine Lake Fire Rescue, firefighters were attempting to respond to reports of a fire on Spafford Road in the Town of Stella, but a section of Spring Road was impassable due to snow drifts, forcing the fire engines to find an alternate route.
Once on the scene, smoke could be seen coming from the roof and chimney of the home. Additional area fire departments were called in to assist on the scene with firefighters then beginning an interior attack and limiting the fire to just the chimney and the attic area surrounding it.
