The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…
Welcome to spring!!! We put winter in the rear-view mirror at 9:46 a.m., a time we call the spring/vernal equinox. It will certainly feel more like spring than winter over the next few days as highs go above average in the 40s, 50s, and 60s (temps dependent on where you live)!
As snow continues to melt today and this weekend, rivers and streams will be running high. Storm Team 5 will alert you of any flood advisories or warnings, should they be issued by the National Weather Service. Puddles and ponding are likely to emerge around your home! Make sure this water is getting away from the foundation of your house, to prevent it from entering your basement. Speaking of basements, your sump pumps need to be monitored as they will be running more frequently in the coming days.
We’ll keep the potential for fog in the weekend outlook as melting snow adds moisture to the low levels of the atmosphere. Conditions may be right again Friday night with light winds and dropping temperatures to show us areas of fog developing in the early morning hours.
The next widespread chance for precipitation is going to be late Saturday night and Sunday morning. That will start off up north Saturday night as a mix of rain and snow, dropping south after sunrise as light rain on Sunday to the Fox Valley.
