TOMAH, Wis. (WFRV) – A 44-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly making varying threats towards multiple members of the local justice system in western Wisconsin.
Officers with the Tomah Police Department stated that they recently investigated threats directed towards a local attorney, a Jackson County prosecutor, and a Monroe County Circuit Court Judge. The investigation began on March 26.
It was reported that the threats included “statements of bodily harm as well as potential property damage, including arson targeting a local business.”

The investigation led them to a suspect under GPS monitoring by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, which pointed them to a residence in Wilton.
After coordinating with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, Justin W. Johnson of Tomah, was taken into custody.
The following charges are being referred to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office:
- Unlawful Use of a Telephone
- Terroristic Threats
- Threats to Law Enforcement, Judge, or Prosecutor
- Disorderly Conduct
- Bail Jumping

Johnson currently has three pending criminal cases in Monroe County and two pending criminal cases in Jackson County.
