CALEDONIA, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin say an Illinois woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after a traffic stop found drugs and a firearm inside the vehicle, as well as a child sleeping on the floor.
According to a release from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop around 1:30 a.m. on Interstate 90/94/39 in the Town of Caledonia after a vehicle was caught on radar going 95mph in a 70mph zone.
While approaching the vehicle during the traffic stop, deputies spotted a young child sleeping on the floor of the back seats with no safety restraint.

As the investigation went on, K9 Rico was deployed for a free air sniff, during which he alerted to the car, leading to a search that recovered THC, drug paraphernalia, alluding to signs of drug trafficking, and a loaded firearm within reach of the driver.
The driver, 21-year-old Estrella Heredia Juarez from Crest Hill, Illinois, was arrested and taken to the Columbia County Jail, where she was found to have about 42 grams of suspected fentanyl on her person during the intake process.
Juarez was booked on the following charges.
- Possession with intent to deliver fentanyl (10-50 grams)
- Carry a concealed weapon
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Juarez made an initial appearance in court on Wednesday and was released on a $500 signature bond. No other information is available at this time.
