The flight serves as a big thank you to those who served the country. Flight 79 took Korean War and Vietnam War veterans to see the monuments that honor them.
You can see in the morning many of our veterans leading up to the day of the flight, our veterans are pretty nervous. That nervous excitement where they’re not really sure how things will unfold and experiencing many emotions. Throughout the day, you see the ebb and flow of that camaraderie with their brothers and sisters.

The group of veterans on the flight returned to Appleton from D.C. around 9:00 p.m. For more on Old Glory Honor Flights and other work that Missions of Honor carries out, tune into this Sunday’s Newsmaker Sunday at 7:00 a.m., where Local Five’s Tom Zalaski will speak with the president of Missions of Honor.
