How a Northeast Wisconsin native lives The Masters dream every year
In a release on social media, the team stated that “Doc Rivers has stepped down as head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks.”
Rivers, who was recently named to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, departs from Milwaukee following a 2026 season that saw the Bucks finish 11th in the Eastern Conference standings with a 32-50 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
I have truly loved my time in Milwaukee. Coming back to where I got my start, to a city that has always embraced me, has been a privilege. I am disappointed that things did not turn out the way any of us hoped, but I am deeply grateful for this experience, the relationships built, and unwavering support from our fans and the community. Milwaukee will always mean a lot to me, and this chapter will hold a special place in my heart.
Doc Rivers
Rivers spent nearly the last two and a half seasons as the head coach of the Bucks, leading the team to a 97-103 (.485) record during that time frame.
The Bucks will now be in search of a new coach for the third time since winning the NBA Championship in the 2020-21 season.
