While arriving to the scene of the fire, officials say they learned that there was no one inside the semi at the time of the fire. Firefighters first on the scene found the semi parked near a commercial building with the fire appearing to be in the engine compartment.
Crews opened up the hood of the semi truck and were met with smoke and flames on the driver’s side of the engine. After extinguishing the fire, burned wires were said to be found at the starter motor, making officials believe the cause of the fire was electrical in nature.
No one was hurt in the incident, and no other information is available at this time.
