MOSEL, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Sheboygan County say one man is dead after they were hit Sunday afternoon by a semi tractor-trailer on I-43 North.
According to a release from the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 4:12 p.m. to I-43 northbound just to the south of Garton Road in the Town of Mosel for reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a semi truck.
Officials say it appears the driver of a Ford Explorer had pulled over to the side of I-43 and had exited his vehicle, leading to him being hit by a passing semi truck heading northbound.

Life-saving measures were immediately taken upon the arrival of first responders, but the driver of the Ford Explorer, identified as a 48-year-old Sheboygan man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Orange Cross Ambulance, Howards Grove Fire Department, Haven Fire Department, and Sheboygan County Highway Department were all said to have assisted on scene with this incident.
No other information is available at this time pending the notification of the victim’s family.
