The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…
Monday will bring us nice, warm weather during the day, then not-so-nice conditions this evening as thunderstorms along a warm front tap into the heat generated by today’s sunshine. This afternoon, plan on well above normal highs in the 60s and 70s! As dew points rise a bit further south, some may also feel humidity going up for the first time this year.
THUNDERSTORM THREAT: The main risk for thunderstorms will be between 6pm and 1am tonight. Not only could we see additional heavy rain that may add a few inches of moisture to several communities, but all the other severe weather threats are at play. A FLOOD WATCH is in effect for most of northeast Wisconsin until Tuesday Morning.
Large hail of 1-2″+ in diameter is possible, along with damaging winds that exceed 60 miles per hour – both scenarios would trigger a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Tornado warnings are also possible as one or a few tornadoes potentially spin up this evening in Wisconsin. It is a good idea to have a way to get severe weather alerts such as a NOAA Weather Radio, smartphone alerts, or television forecasts, plus, have a severe weather safety plan in place with your family BEFORE the threat of storms begins at 6pm.
