NEW LONDON, Wis. (WFRV) – Residents in New London are being evacuated due to dangerous flood waters following Monday’s and Tuesday’s storms, and a public emergency shelter has been designated.
The City of New London posted on Facebook, stating, “You should evacuate immediately to ensure your safety. If you choose to remain in place, your safety cannot be guaranteed.”
A public emergency shelter has been designated at the Washington Center Gym on West Washington Street. Another has been set up at the Weyauwega Community Center on East Main Street in Weyauwega.
‘Prep to leave immediately’: Weyauwega residents asked to evacuate again
It was noted that pets will not be admitted to the shelter.
“When evacuating, please make sure to take your phone chargers, medications, and pets,” city officials stated.
