OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – A local radio station ran by local students is celebrating 60 years of being on the Oshkosh air waves.
WRST FM in Oshkosh is operated by University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh students, giving them the chance to hone their skills at the radio station before moving into the radio workforce.
The station’s General Manager says there are not a lot of campus radio stations around, so for this specific one to not just be still standing, but also be successful, is special.
They win the awards, it’s not me or any of my predecessors, it’s the great students that come through here and apply themselves and get the experience they need to be successful.
Wendell Ray, WRST General Manager
