PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – One person was arrested and a malnourished animal was rescued following a police pursuit in Wisconsin early Saturday morning.
According to a release from the Pleasant Prairie Police Department, officers stopped during the early morning hours to check on a disabled vehicle on Highway 50.
The vehicle then fled, entering the oncoming lanes of Green Bay Road. Police attempted several intervention tactics, including a tire deflation device and a moving roadblock.
Officials say the suspect vehicle was able to avoid the tire deflation device by crossing back into oncoming traffic within an active construction zone, and it later swerved toward a squad car during the roadblock attempt before entering into oncoming traffic again and entering the construction zone.

Due to the possible dangers to construction crews, other drivers, and the officers, police used a slow-speed intervention technique to pin the suspect vehicle against a curb, safely disabling it and bringing an end to the pursuit.
The driver was arrested, and a malnourished animal was found in the vehicle, seemingly in poor health. The animal was taken to the Wisconsin Humane Society – Kenosha Campus for care, and the suspect was arrested and booked into the Kenosha County Jail on several felony and misdemeanor charges.
