(WFRV) – Two victims, who are now in critical condition, were flown away from the scene of a head-on crash in southern Wisconsin on Saturday morning.
According to a release from the Twin Lakes Fire Department and Rescue Squad, multiple departments were called to the 5700 block of State Highway 83 around 10:10 a.m. on May 2 after getting reports of a head-on crash.
Crews arrived and described a ‘significant’ and ‘complex’ scene, saying two victims were found lying in the road, with another trapped and pinned in a vehicle, all while a second vehicle was on fire.

Due to the crash’s severity, two Flight for Life helicopters were called in. Authorities say that it took roughly an hour to get the trapped victim out of the vehicle.
Two victims were taken via helicopter to a Milwaukee hospital and are in critical condition. A third victim was taken to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
