FRANKLIN, Wis. (WFRV) – Police say reports of a naked man with a gun in the middle of the street were tied to a “Paranoia” game being played by local high school students.
According to a release from the Franklin Police Department, police from both 1st and 3rd shifts, as well as other non-patrol officers, responded Monday morning to reports of a man naked in the middle of a street with a gun.
Officials say they conducted a high-risk traffic stop, disrupting normal morning commute traffic, and determined that the reported naked guy and his passenger were a part of an ongoing game being played by Franklin High School students called “Paranoia.”

Soon following this traffic stop, reports of additional shirtless individuals came in, saying that they were loudly arguing and threatening to kill one another. Police determined this was also related to the ongoing “Paranoia” game.
Officers are asking the public for their help in explaining to those taking part in these incidents, as part of a game, that there can be potentially serious consequences. During these two incidents on Monday morning, one of them resulted in an arrest for Disorderly Conduct.
Officials add that incidents similar to these, not associated with the “Paranoia” game, occur frequently across the country and result in very serious outcomes.
Police say they take these incidents as serious potential threats and are expected to respond to them in a manner said to ensure public and personal safety.
