GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has determined the cause of death for a pelican found along the Fox River Trail in Green Bay.
The pelican was discovered between the bridge and Fox Harbor. Following further examination, the DNR concluded the bird likely died from natural causes.
There had been public concern that the pelican may have been killed by a human. However, officials say their analysis found no evidence to support those claims.
The DNR said the findings should put to rest rumors surrounding the bird’s death.
