Cyndi Lauper is giving fans a chance to own pieces of her colorful past while reflecting on how fashion and music have changed over the years.
The singer’s upcoming Suitcase of Memories auction, organized by Bonhams in New York, features stage costumes, clothing, accessories, and personal memorabilia collected throughout her career. The sale comes as her 1986 album True Colors marks its 40th anniversary.
Lauper has also expressed concerns about the growing influence of corporations on creative industries. She believes commercial expectations have made it harder for artists to develop individual styles and experiment freely.
Known for her bold outfits, vibrant hair, and unconventional approach to fashion, Lauper helped define the visual identity of 1980s pop music. Her clothing became an extension of her personality and artistic expression.
The auction includes a live sale scheduled for October 22, 2026, followed by the conclusion of an online sale on October 23.
For fans, the collection offers a look at the wardrobe and personal items connected to one of pop music’s most recognizable performers.
